Principal Responsibilities

The Portfolio & Servicing Manager will solely be responsible for customers engagement & growth with HSBC. He\/She plays a crucial role throughout the life cycle of a customer who has opened his\/her business current account with HSBC by ensuring increased share of wallet, higher penetration into other lending and payment products.

Handholding the account from the time its onboarded wrt to ensuring Account Opening cheque is cleared, the internet banking (HSBCNet) set-up is completed, training is provided to the customer by the HSBCNet team, Welcome kit is received by the customer, Debit Card is activated, all other requests wrt bulk upload, bulk pay, payroll etc is managed well and on time.

Portfolio Management

  • Ability to manage the startup events, liaise with founders, stakeholders for opening accounts<\/li>
  • Participating in defining, developing & managing Portfolio encompassing customer insight, articulating the modifications required in reach out strategy<\/li>
  • Providing feedback for alignment to market on Product, Proposition & Portfolio- Competitive landscape<\/li>
  • Manage and build balances on Transaction Banking , increase balances, revenue & reduce cost<\/li>
  • Delivery - of projects on time and with necessary quality.<\/li>
  • High focus on building & maintaining Partnerships & Alliances, digital journeys etc.<\/li>
  • Leading and executing the Marketing & Operations led activities on Transaction Banking Portfolio<\/li>
  • Build and execute Customer communication seamlessly to increase penetration and improve customer experience.<\/li>

    Needs to contribute to the smooth implementation of cash management solutions. The person will also be responsible for onboarding the Business clients onto HSBC's payment and receivables platform seamlessly. Apart from the above, the person would also be responsible for vetting the Cash Management documentations for clients and be a facilitator for all document negotiation between the Bank and the client. A well-managed and coordinated implementation captures revenue at the earliest possible time, strengthens the customer relationship and earns long-term credibility for capturing ongoing business opportunities. The Implementation Team Member shall act as an enabler in achieving this objective.

    The Role Requires Performing The Below Activities

    <\/strong>
    • Be responsible for managing Client Implementation \/Solution delivery as well as Servicing of Cash Management solutions (including Payments, Liquidity and Collections) to customers<\/li>
    • Understand the client's business and act as a consultant to client during the implementation<\/li>
    • Engage with stakeholders (internal and external) to provide opinions \/ alternatives on the documentation queries raised by customers<\/li>
    • Provide consultation to Sales Team and participate in the deal team to secure mandates<\/li>
    • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy and maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring.<\/li>
    • Contribute to the management and development of the Client Implementation function both in India and the Asia Pacific region and assist to build up PCM Client Implementation as a cohesive functional unit<\/li>
    • PCM legal Documentation vetting for SME customer including Domestic and Cross Border mandates.<\/li>
    • Manage escalations\/senior management interventions as also managing operational risk including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting<\/li>
    • Build a relationship across all levels at the customer's end and become the first point of contact from the bank's side for any GPS related requirements of the customer requirements rather than a plain transaction banking representative.Ensure top of mind recall with the client<\/li>

Principal Responsibilities<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>

The Portfolio & Servicing Manager will solely be responsible for customers engagement & growth with HSBC. He\/She plays a crucial role throughout the life cycle of a customer who has opened his\/her business current account with HSBC by ensuring increased share of wallet, higher penetration into other lending and payment products.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Handholding the account from the time its onboarded wrt to ensuring Account Opening cheque is cleared, the internet banking (HSBCNet) set-up is completed, training is provided to the customer by the HSBCNet team, Welcome kit is received by the customer, Debit Card is activated, all other requests wrt bulk upload, bulk pay, payroll etc is managed well and on time.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Portfolio Management<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>

  • Ability to manage the startup events, liaise with founders, stakeholders for opening accounts<\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Participating in defining, developing & managing Portfolio encompassing customer insight, articulating the modifications required in reach out strategy<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Providing feedback for alignment to market on Product, Proposition & Portfolio- Competitive landscape<\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Manage and build balances on Transaction Banking , increase balances, revenue & reduce cost<\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Delivery - of projects on time and with necessary quality.<\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • High focus on building & maintaining Partnerships & Alliances, digital journeys etc.<\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Leading and executing the Marketing & Operations led activities on Transaction Banking Portfolio<\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Build and execute Customer communication seamlessly to increase penetration and improve customer experience.<\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Internal Communication high standard across levels in the organization including Senior Management<\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Stakeholder considerations - the highest quality, most succinct output that is suitable for senior executive management and external parties (including regulators) at all times, regardless of pressures.<\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Sensitivity and trust - engendering a true sense of urgency, pace, community and collaboration across indirectly managed areas across WPB & other entities.<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/li><\/ul>

    HSBCNet<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>

    Needs to contribute to the smooth implementation of cash management solutions. The person will also be responsible for onboarding the Business clients onto HSBC's payment and receivables platform seamlessly. Apart from the above, the person would also be responsible for vetting the Cash Management documentations for clients and be a facilitator for all document negotiation between the Bank and the client. A well-managed and coordinated implementation captures revenue at the earliest possible time, strengthens the customer relationship and earns long-term credibility for capturing ongoing business opportunities. The Implementation Team Member shall act as an enabler in achieving this objective.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    The role requires performing the below activities:<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    a)<\/span>Be responsible for managing Client Implementation \/Solution delivery as well as Servicing of Cash Management solutions (including Payments, Liquidity and Collections) to customers<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    b)<\/span>Understand the client's business and act as a consultant to client during the implementation<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    c)<\/span>Engage with stakeholders (internal and external) to provide opinions \/ alternatives on the documentation queries raised by customers<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    d)<\/span>Provide consultation to Sales Team and participate in the deal team to secure mandates<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    e)<\/span>Maintain HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy and maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    f)<\/span>Contribute to the management and development of the Client Implementation function both in India and the Asia Pacific region and assist to build up PCM Client Implementation as a cohesive functional unit<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    g)<\/span>PCM legal Documentation vetting for SME customer including Domestic and Cross Border mandates.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    h)<\/span>Manage escalations\/senior management interventions as also managing operational risk including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    i)<\/span>Build a relationship across all levels at the customer's end and become the first point of contact from the bank's side for any GPS related requirements of the customer requirements rather than a plain transaction banking representative.Ensure top of mind recall with the client<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    j)<\/span>Be the owner of revenue tracking for clients being onboarded onto HSBC's platform.<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>

    KYC & CDD<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>

    a)<\/span>Carry out full fledged KYC for the customers as part of Customer Due Diligence Exercise<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    b)<\/span>Ensure timely completion of CDD for all High & Medium Risk Customers<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    c)<\/span>Ensure daily updates to CDD Team on all cases where CDD carried out sucessfully.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    a)<\/span>A well- versed Portfolio and share of Wallet management abilities<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    b)<\/span>A self-motivated individual with flair for technology, operations and service<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    c)<\/span>An individual who has interest in adequately servicing customer for long term gains<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    d)<\/span>Project management skills with the ability to manage implementation \/ client onboarding activities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    e)<\/span>Flair for handling KYC documents \/ legal documentation and ability to think through alternatives when confronted with customer requirements, while keeping in mind the Bank's interests and the Regulatory aspects.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    f)<\/span>Experience in Client Implementation for Global Banking and Corporate customer.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    g)<\/span>Cash Management Domain Knowledge and \/ or Certificate of International Cash Management, Project Management certification\/ experience preferred.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    h)<\/span>Ability to work closely with various teams to deliver comprehensive solutions\/services to meet customer needs. <\/span><\/span><\/p>

    i)<\/span>Experiences in Corporate Banking as well as a broad knowledge on the banking, prevailing business environment and regulatory framework are also prerequisites.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    j)<\/span>Excellent communication, analytical , negotiationand people oriented skills<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    k)<\/span>Demonstrated ability to manage challenging customers with a strong customer orientation especially at forging rapport at senior management levels at client's end.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    l)<\/span>Interact with multiple internal & external stake-holders like GSC, Sales, Services, Customer, Customer Group RM, Legal & Compliance etc. <\/span><\/span><\/p>

    m)<\/span>Ability to work under pressure and to think laterally and meet deadlines.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    n)<\/span>Take ownership in migrating the wallet share of the client being onboarded from the incumbent bank<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    What you will need to succeed in the role:<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>

    • Educated to Degree level preferably in business management related field<\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • 5+ years experience preferably in Portfolio Management with added advantage of Customer facing roles. business analysis, process mapping, customer centric design, and\/or consultancy, marketing, Debit\/ Credit Cards or Transaction Banking, startups, Payments etc. <\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Customer journey mapping and\/or process mapping experience preferred.<\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Experience in customer life-cycle management<\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Strong analytical skills to understand and use metrics to draw conclusions.<\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in simple language to support problem analysis.<\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Ability to make recommendations based on both subjective and objective information - consulting skills.<\/span><\/span><\/li>
